An acoustic duo from Ellington, CT, John & Heidi Cerrigione ('ser-a-go-nee) quickly learned that there were listeners who enjoyed their simple brand of old-time acoustic music.  Instrumentation typically includes autoharp, hammered and mountain dulcimer, banjo, guitar and acoustic bass.  Their tunes are drawn from many traditional sources, including fiddle and dance music of early America, the British Isles and Switzerland.  Jigs, reels, hornpipes and waltzes all find a place in the lineup.

They are available to perform in public or private settings and Heidi also conducts workshops in autoharp, mountain and hammered dulcimers and John teaches autoharp and clawhammer banjo.  In 1996, John & Heidi published a songbook and cassette tape of " 30 Old Time Songs & Tunes " with Neal Walters of the Mill Run Dulcimer Band.  This duo also performs with Neal & Coleen Walters from Greencastle, PA as "Doofus" and have released 4 CD's. " What Did We Leave Behind? " , "Handful of Songs ", Relatively Serious" and "Stream of Time", collections of traditional, sentimental and old-time songs and tunes.

In 2003 John & Heidi released their first duet recording titled "Wood Stoves and Bread Loaves".  Like "warm clothes and bread loaves and a fire in the wood stove", these songs and tunes are some of their favorites.  Each one "brings back a face or a place that they've been"; they do "love the old songs the best".

Their second duet recording titled "Winter's Turning" was released in 2006. A collection of family favorites along with others they've wanted to share. A relaxing selection of 10 instrumentals and 10 vocals. All featuring a variety of acoustic instruments.

In 2007 they collaborated with Atwater-Donnelly as "Jerimoth Hill"on "The Halfway Ground" . A collection of 12 Old Time Gospel songs with Elwood Donnelly on lead vocals and guitar; Aubrey Atwater on mountain dulcimer, banjo and mandolin; Cathy Clasper-Torch, fiddle and cello; Heidi Cerrigione, autoharp; John Cerrigione, Bass; Uriah Donnelly, piano and lead guitar; and Kevin Doyle, percussion.
In 2009 they also contributed to Aubrey & Elwood's latest recording, The Weaver's Bonny.

In 2009 they contributed to Aubrey & Elwood's recording, The Weaver's Bonny and also released their 3rd duet recording titled “Joy to the World”; an instrumental Christmas CD containing 16 Christmas melodies played on a variety of acoustic instruments.

In 2011they were involved again on Aubrey & Elwood's newest recording, Each Other's Story a collection of original songs spanning 30 years in the careers of Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly.

Check out their calendar for new upcoming adventures.
They have several concerts, workshops and just plain fun planned as J&H, Doofus Music and the Atwater-Donnelly Band.
